The kurta is likely to have been inspired by the kurtaka, a type of tunic traditionally worn in Central Asia that may have made its way to India through the Mughals.

We imagine the “panel-kurta” from the Mughal Oudh Court, characterized by a square armhole into a modern-day slip dress. We accessorized it with a camouflaging corset belt.

We can make this silhouette with your textile.
