‘Ghaghra’ or ‘Chaniya’ commonly seen in skirts of the North-western desert region of South Asia have been historically constructed with only one vertical seam, which transforms the cloth into a tube, fastened with drawer strings. This was done to be able to preserve the intricate embroidery and textiles.

We took inspiration from that aspect and created a functional gathered skirt using kalamkari dupattas. The skirt features pockets for functionality without creating any seams.
